Laser Hair Removal

Laser hair removal is an advanced aesthetic treatment that allows progressive and lasting hair reduction, acting directly on the hair root.

At UNIQUE Clinic, we use triple wave laser technology (Alexandrite, Diode and Nd:YAG), allowing us to treat different skin and hair types with greater effectiveness and safety.

This method is currently one of the most effective solutions for comfortable and lasting hair removal.

Process

How does it Work?

01

Laser hair removal works by emitting a light that is attracted to the melanin (dark pigment) present in the hair.

02

When the laser reaches the hair, the light energy is converted into heat, destroying the hair follicle and preventing future growth — without damaging the surrounding skin.

03

Hair growth occurs in 3 distinct phases: Anagen phase (growth), Catagen phase (transition) and Telogen phase (shedding). The laser is only effective during the Anagen phase, as this is when there is a direct connection between the hair and the follicle.

04

The use of triple wave technology (Alexandrite, Diode and Nd:YAG) allows the treatment to be adapted to different skin and hair types:

05

Alexandrite – ideal for finer hairs and lighter skin tones

06

Diode – effective on different skin types

07

Nd:YAG – indicated for darker and tanned skin tones

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Does laser hair removal hurt?

It may cause slight discomfort, described as small pricks, but it is generally well tolerated.

How many sessions are needed?

The number of sessions varies from person to person, depending on factors such as skin type, hair colour and thickness, and the body area being treated. Generally, between 6 and 10 initial sessions are recommended, as the laser only acts on hairs in the growth phase. After this initial cycle, maintenance sessions may be necessary to ensure long-lasting results and control the reappearance of new hair over time. Areas such as the face may require more sessions, while areas such as the legs or underarms tend to respond more quickly to treatment.

When are results visible?

Results are progressive, becoming visible throughout the sessions.

Is there any downtime?

No. You can resume your normal routine immediately after the treatment.

Is the treatment safe?

Yes, when performed by qualified professionals with certified equipment.

Is laser hair removal permanent?

Laser hair removal provides a permanent and lasting reduction of hair, but does not guarantee total and definitive elimination of all hair. Over the sessions, there is a significant reduction in the quantity, thickness and growth rate of the hair. Hairs that regrow tend to be finer, lighter and less visible. However, factors such as hormonal changes, age or individual characteristics can influence the reappearance of some hairs over time. For this reason, maintenance sessions are recommended to help preserve the results obtained and keep skin smooth and even.
